Inventory of Award Medallion Cords on Hand
Last Updated: 10-Jun-2008
Notes:
- Narrow medallion cords should be at least 33-34" long
each, if they are cut into individual cords or woven in short
sections. They need to be large enough to pull over someone's
head, possibly while wearing a veil or hat or glasses. (An
award recipient can always shorten a cord, but never lengthen
it.) They should be narrow enough that they can be fed through
a 1/4-inch jump-ring.
- Harp Argents are described as
being depended from a silver cord. Traditionally, other AoA
awards are also strung on silver, white, or grey cords.
- Legion of Courtesy awards are described as
being depended from the colors of Caid, meaning blue and
white. Traditionally, Grant level awards are also strung
on blue and white cords.
- Vanguard of Honor and Corde de Guerre awards are the cords
themselves, and are wider bands. These are usually woven
the size of garters, or about 1/2-inch or 3/4-inch wide.
These should be long enough to hang from a shoulder or tie
around the upper-arm comfortably.
