Notes:

Narrow medallion cords should be at least 33-34" long each, if they are cut into individual cords or woven in short sections. They need to be large enough to pull over someone's head, possibly while wearing a veil or hat or glasses. (An award recipient can always shorten a cord, but never lengthen it.) They should be narrow enough that they can be fed through a 1/4-inch jump-ring.
Harp Argents are described as being depended from a silver cord. Traditionally, other AoA awards are also strung on silver, white, or grey cords.
Legion of Courtesy awards are described as being depended from the colors of Caid, meaning blue and white. Traditionally, Grant level awards are also strung on blue and white cords.
Vanguard of Honor and Corde de Guerre awards are the cords themselves, and are wider bands. These are usually woven the size of garters, or about 1/2-inch or 3/4-inch wide. These should be long enough to hang from a shoulder or tie around the upper-arm comfortably.
